  • X-rays. Bitewings and panoramic on schedule.
  • Fillings & extractions. Basic restorative coverage at 70–80%.

  • Glasses & contacts. Frame allowance + lens coverage. Contact lens benefit annually.
FAQ

Dental & vision basics.

Is there a waiting period?

Most plans have no waiting period for preventive (cleanings, exams) and short waits (3–6 months) for basic care. Major procedures (crowns, root canals) often have 12-month waiting periods, though some carriers waive this with prior coverage.

Can I keep my dentist?

Usually yes — most plans use PPO networks with thousands of dentists. We'll check your specific provider before recommending a plan.

Is it cheaper to skip insurance and just pay out of pocket?

For someone with great teeth needing only cleanings, sometimes yes. For anyone with predictable dental work coming, insurance almost always saves money. We'll do the math both ways.

Are orthodontics covered?

Limited — most plans cap ortho at $1,000–$2,000 lifetime and only for dependents under 19. Adult ortho is rarely covered. Some standalone ortho plans exist; we can quote those separately.
